Data Exchange

Electra is keen to work with you! We are currently redeveloping our systems to provide new APIs to exchange data with people and other systems automatically.

We are already exchanging data with electricity retailers and the Electricity Authority using the industry standard Electricity Information Exchange Protocols (EIEP).

If you have any questions about these APIs, or suggestions for data you would like us to make available, or you think you have discovered an issue, please email

We receive customer data from the retailers once a month. This data includes names, phone numbers, email address, and postal address*. If any of these change you need to notify your retailer for us be updated with the new information. We use this data for our automated phone system and for reporting power outages.

We have APIs being developed that you can use to fetch data from our systems. These APIs will be public and free to use without needing to sign up.

If you have any questions about these APIs, data you would like us to make available, or issues you have found, please email

API Documentation

Check out the automatically generated API Documentation that describes how to use the APIs and includes code samples in multiple languages. The API Console allows you to directly interact with the API right here in the developer portal.

Developer Support

API publishers can engage directly with their API community, keeping them up to date via the integrated blog. Developers can log and discuss issues and even submit their applications to the application gallery.

* None of this personally identifiable information is available through our public APIs and is only used internally within the Electra Group to provide the subscribed services.
